George Altirs Awards

The Ellis Island Medal of Honor is an American award founded by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations (NECO) which is presented annually to American citizens whose accomplishments in their field and inspired service to our nation are cause for celebration. Past Medalists include seven U.S. Presidents, several world leaders, two Nobel Prize winners and countless leaders of industry, education, the arts, sports and government, along with everyday Americans who have made freedom, liberty and compassion a part of their life’s work.

TAKREEM identifies and honors Arabs who have excelled in their field and inspired others in their quest for cultural, educational, scientific, environmental, humanitarian, social and economic excellence.

The Outstanding Corporate Leadership Award is granted to an individual who: Is a visionary, leading with clarity of mission, inspiring his colleagues and employees.

• Adheres to the highest professional standards.
• Is a market leader who pushes both the company and the industry forward (reflected in innovation, market share, and profitability).
• Performs at an exceptional level, maintaining ethical standards.

• Implements and supports Corporate Social Responsibility (e.g. through environmental projects or support for the local community and charity projects).

• Enjoys a positive reputation outside of work.

George Altirs was awarded a Doctorate Honoris Causa in Business and Commercial Sciences from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik on July 25, 2015. George now holds the position of the Chair of USEK Board of Trustees.
